Leah Liu is a Chinese-born artist based in Brooklyn, holding a degree in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. She works across sculpture, installation, and sound. Her practice explores systems of connection, recursion, and material transformation through folded forms, cast modularity, and flexible joint systems. She approaches casting as a form of fossilization, where the irreversible forces of time, heat, and deceleration condense as the material bonds to its inertial mold. Her sculptures investigate how gravity and unseen forces disrupt the monumentality of repetition. Through these deviations, she invites viewers to uncover the proximity between forms and question how recurrence or disturbances are precipitated within each encounter.
